Flying G Ranch is a family-owned and run ranching operation located in the hills of the Gadsby Lake region of central Alberta. Here, we love our cattle, and our primary focus is raising and producing quality, grass-fed, grass-finished Angus beef. We value an approach that provides a quality of life for our cattle and continuously improves the land we use. If you are tired of buying beef from grocery stores that are charging a premium for low-quality, mass-produced beef that is primarily sourced from corporate-run processing plants, then your next step is to start buying from a local rancher who focuses on raising beef humanely and sustainably, with a premium quality product and positive environmental impact being the end goal. At Flying G Ranch we thoroughly enjoy and believe in the health benefits and superior quality of our ranch-raised beef for ourselves, and we would like to make it available to you as well. Our beef breed of choice is the Lowline Angus. Lowline cattle were developed at the Trangie Research Centre in New South Wales, Australia. Animal Scientists began with a herd of registered Champion Angus cattle, purchased in 1929, that were carefully selected for high quality and small size. The end result was a breed of small, black, polled cattle with pure Angus genetics. Lowline cattle are docile, easily managed, highly feed efficient, and finish very well on grass. The beef from Lowline cattle has excellent taste, texture, and tenderness. Click here if you would like to learn more about Lowline Angus cattle.
